About the day

Walk today. Fund students forever.

The Forever Run, Walk & Family Fun Day brings the whole University of Embu family together: students, staff, alumni, their families and our neighbours across Embu County. Walk the 4 KM or 8 KM route, then stay for a day of games, rides and music.

Every entry grows the Forever Fund, Hazina ya Milele, the University of Embu Endowment Fund. The principal is invested and never spent. Only the yield is used, to fund bursaries that keep students in class, this year and for every year after.

Event details

How the day runs

Saturday 31 October 2026 at the University of Embu. Both routes start from Gate A, next to the sports grounds.

  1. Arrive & register

    Head to the endowment tent by the main gate. Register on the spot or show your advance registration, and collect your campaign jersey.

  2. Walkers set off from Gate A

    Choose the 4 KM route (eminent guests and children) or the 8 KM route (all other participants).

  3. Walk through the University and Kangaru

    The 4 KM route finishes at the ABH Field. The 8 KM route loops back to Gate A.

  4. Family Fun Day

    Face painting, trampoline, water slides, rock climbing, skating, train rides, dancing, singing, virtual reality and water pools.

  5. Give to the Forever Fund

    Add a gift at the endowment tent or by M-Pesa: Paybill , account .

Routes

  • 4 KM for eminent guests and children: Gate A, Carwash, TB Bridge, Athletics, Arc Junction, Dam 2, LC, ABH Field.
  • 8 KM for all other participants: Gate A, Arc Junction, Gate C, Kangaru Junction, Kangaru Police Junction, Whispering, Gakwegori, back to Gate A.

What to bring

  • Comfortable walking shoes and a hat.
  • Your registration confirmation, printed or on your phone.
  • A water bottle and sunscreen.
  • Your family. Children are very welcome.

FAQs

Questions, answered

Do I need to be a student or staff member to take part?

No. The day is open to everyone: students, staff, alumni, their families and the wider Embu community. Bring whoever you like.

Can I register a group or my whole organization at once?

Yes. The online form is for individual entries, so for teams and groups contact the Fund office on info@embuni.ac.ke so jerseys can be ready for you.

Are children allowed?

Absolutely. This is a family day. Children walk the 4 KM route, and the Fun Day has face painting, a trampoline, water slides, train rides, skating and more.

Where does my money go?

Into the Forever Fund, Hazina ya Milele, the University of Embu Endowment Fund. The principal is invested and never spent. Its yield funds bursaries that keep students in class, year after year.

Will I get a jersey?

Yes. Every adult entry includes the navy and gold campaign jersey, with the Forever mark on the chest and the date and route across the back. Collect it at the endowment tent on the day.
